Poetry of Love and Longing: Words That Touch the Soul

Poetry has a unique way of capturing the essence of love—its joy, its pain, and its infinite complexity. This Valentine’s Day, we’re sharing a collection of original poems that explore the many facets of love, from the sweetness of connection to the ache of heartbreak. Whether you’re celebrating love or healing from loss, these poems will speak to your heart.

Original Poems

1. Unrequited Love
Your eyes met mine, but never stayed,
A fleeting glance, a price I paid.
I loved you quietly, in the dark,
A flame that burned without a spark.

You were the sun, I was the moon,
Forever chasing, never in tune.
My heart still whispers your name,
Though yours will never feel the same.

2. Lost Love
We were a song, a melody sweet,
But time turned our rhythm incomplete.
Your laughter lingers, a ghost in my mind,
A love I lost, but never resigned.

I trace the memories, faded and worn,
Of a love that blossomed, then was torn.
You were my always, my forever, my end,
But forever was shorter than I could pretend.

3. The Beauty of Love
Love is a sunrise, soft and warm,
A shelter safe from every storm.
It’s the quiet moments, the gentle touch,
The feeling of home, the missing much.

It’s not in the grand, but the small and true,
The way I see myself when I look at you.
Love is a gift, a light, a flame,
A constant whisper of your name.

4. Longing
I wait for you in the quiet night,
Under the stars, in the pale moonlight.
Your absence is a weight I bear,
A hollow ache, a silent prayer.

I dream of the day you’ll return,
When the fire in my heart will burn.
Until then, I’ll wait, I’ll stay,
Hoping love finds its way.

5. Self-Love
I once searched for love in another’s eyes,
But found it in my own, a sweet surprise.
The mirror reflects not flaws, but grace,
A heart that’s learned its rightful place.

I am enough, I always have been,
A soul that’s whole, a light within.
Love starts with me, and grows from there,
A garden of hope, tender and rare.
